The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Sulba-sutra with the commentaries of Kapardin, Karavinda and Sundararaja. The Sulbasutras are considered Vedic appendices and deals with the ancient Indian science of Mathematics and Geometry, by instructing the construction of fire-altars, among others. evami va hi śyenasya varṣīyāṃsau pakṣau pucchād vakrau saṃnataṃ pucchaṃ dīrgha ātmā maṇḍalaṃ śiraś ca | tasmāc chrutisāmarthyāt || Sūtra _21.2a ||
hiśabdaḥ prasiddhau / śyeno'pyevameva / varṣīyāṃsau -- bṛhantau / pakṣau / kasmāt pucchāddīrghau? na kevalaṃ bṛlantau kiṃ tu tau vakrau / sannataṃ samyaṅnataṃ ātmasamīpe'lpīyaḥ agre śyene pṛthu ucyate tatsannatamiti / dīrgha ātmā naṃ samacaturaśraḥ na maṇḍalaḥ nāpi dīrghacaturaśraḥ / amaṇḍalamivādīrghacaturaśrabhūtaṃ śiraḥ / evamprakāro loke śyenaḥ / evameva kaṅkālajo loke / tasmāttadākārāveva kaṅkālajau tenaiva vyākhyātau / śrutisāmarthyāt /
sāmarthyamabhidhānaśaktiḥ /
etāvadeva śrutyābhidhīyate /
aśakyatvātsarvasāmyā (saṃpā) pādanasya /
