The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Sulba-sutra with the commentaries of Kapardin, Karavinda and Sundararaja. The Sulbasutras are considered Vedic appendices and deals with the ancient Indian science of Mathematics and Geometry, by instructing the construction of fire-altars, among others. dakṣiṇasya havirdhānasya dakṣimasyāṃ śroṇyāṃ dviśaṅkvādīnāmanyatamenāratnipramāṇaṃ caturaśraṃ vihṛtya koṇeṣu śaṅkūn nihatyārdhaprādeśena karkaṭena rajjvā tān śaṅkūn parito likhet /
evaṃ prādeśamukhā anyonyataḥ prādeśāntarālā bhavanti /
eṣā śrutirevamarthavatī bhavati /
padamānena vediḥ //

atha devayajanadeśavimānabhāgā ucyante--padamāne eka pañcāśat prācīṃ triṃśattiraśvīṃ devayajamānayogyāṃ bhūmiṃ kṛtvā tanmadhye tadāyāmāṃ devayajanayogyāṃ bhūmiṃ kṛtvā ntamadhye tadāyāmāṃ prācīṃ lekhāmālikhya rajjuṃ prasārya tadantayoḥ śaṅkuṃ nikhāya prāgvaṃśaprabhṛti tadanurūpaṃ tatkratukāle kuryāt, paścādante prāgvaṃśaṃ ṣoḍaśāyāmaṃ dvādaśavistāraṃ dvādaśāyāmaṃ navavistāraṃ nirmāya tasya lālāṭikātrrīn prāca ityādi tattraiva tacchaṅkorārabhya tripadā vahirvedistadante śaṅkuḥ, tatastatpurastāt ṣaṭtriṃśanmahāvediḥ prācī, triṃśatpaścāt tiraśvī, caturviṃśatiḥ purastāt tiraśvī, evaṃ mahāvediṃ vimāya paścimānte tripadaḥsañcaraḥ, tatpurastātprāktvena navapadamudaktvenāṣṭādaśapadaṃ sadaḥ, dakṣiṇottaramaṣṭādaśāyāmaṃ tanmadhye pṛṣṭhyāyā dakṣiṇataḥ padamātre bhavati / tadoduṃbarīsthānaṃ, sadasaḥ pūrvārdhe purastādardhaṃ padamātraṃ saṃcaramavaśiṣya tatpaścātpṛṣṭhyāyāṃ hotrīyamityādayo dhiṣṇyā aratnimātrāḥ piśīlamātrā / teṣāṃ ca tasya tasyottarataḥ visāṃsthita saṃcaraḥ sadasaḥ purastāt tripadaḥsaṃcaraḥ / tatpurastāt navāyāmavistāraṃ havirdhānaṃ, tryaratnivistāraṃ navāyāmamiti madhyamaṃ madhyame chatiṣi tūṣṇīmitare chadiṣī iti darśanāt / "daśāyāmavistāraṃ havirdhānam' iti bodhāyanaḥ / yūpāvaṭīyācchaṅkoḥ paścātpadamātraḥsaṃcaraḥ / tatpaścādyugamātrottaravodiḥ / uttaravedihavirdhānayorantarālamantarvediḥ / pṛṣṭhyāyā dakṣiṇato dakṣiṇahavirdhānaṃ, uttarata uttaraṃ havirdhānaṃ, dakṣiṇahavirdhānasya dakṣiṇaśroṇyāmuparavāḥ, havirdhānasya paścād āgnīdhrasya (dāgnīdhrīyaśva) bāhusamaṃ pṛṣṭhyāyā dakṣiṇato dvādaśasu pārjā līyaḥ / tathaiva tasyā evodak dvādaśasvāgnīdhrīyaḥ, sarvadhiṣṇiyāḥ piśīlamātrāḥ sadasoṃ'sādut tarataḥ pādonatripade padonanavapade caśaṅkūḥ / āgnīdhramaṇṭapasya te śroṇī / havirdhānapaścimāntādārabhya prākrripadeṣu pṛṣṭyāyā uttarataḥ / pādonaikādaśasu pādonasaptadaśasu śaṅkū, tāvāgnīdhrapaṇṭapasyāṃsau / ṣaḍviṃśikāyāḥ paścāt pṛṣṭhyāyāḥ pūrvānte ardhamantarvedyardhaṃ bahirvediḥ / tripadaviṣkambhastripadaparīṇāho yūpāvaṭa iti bodhāyanaḥ / uttarasmādvedyaṃsādudakprakrame cātvāla uttaravedisaṃmitaḥ, cātvālamadhyo vedyaṃsatulyaḥ / ardhānte cātvālāt paścāddādaśasu tadbahirvedyutkaraḥ, vedyaṅkotkarayormadhye uttarataḥ ṣoḍaśasu śāmitradhiṣṇyaḥ / etatpadamāne / prakramamāne tu sadohavirdhānayoraratnimānamagneruttaravedervā paścātrrīn pratīcaḥ prakramānatītya tiryagahavirdhānaṃ navāratnītyādi yāvat / saṃbhavā yāmīvastāraṃ sadaḥ / dhiṣṇyāḥ piśīlamātrāḥ prakrameṇaiva sarvamānaṃ ṣaṭtriṃśadaṅgulaparimitā uttaravedistu daśapadā yugamātrī tatsthāne'gnirvā / anyatsarvaṃ prakramakṛtaṃ / yūpaikādaśinīpekṣa daśarathākṣāmekādaśo (parāṃ)paravāṃ rajjuṃ mītvā tasyāścaturviṃśena bhāgena vediṃvimimīte / prakramasthānīyā bhavatītyukta (ktaṃ prācyekādaśinyāṃ) mekādaśinyāṃ / prācyekādaśinīpakṣe ardhaṣaṣṭhāni padānyaṃsau yūpārdhaṃ bedeḥ purastāt padārthamātramaṃsamapacchidya tatpurastāt prāñcaṃ nidadhyāditi bodhāyanaḥ /

ekādaśaikādīśanīpakṣe ardhaṣaṣṭhāni padānyaṃsāvapacchidya tānyekādaśadhā vibhajya pṛṣṭhyāntā pṛṣṭhyādā dārabhya ekaṃ vibhāgaṃ madhye prāñcannidadhyāt /
taddakṣiṇataḥ uttarataś ca pañcapañca vibhāgān prāñco nidadhyāt /
agnivivṛddhau mahāvedi vivṛddhiḥ, prāgvaṃśaḥprācī cāntarālabahutve vivardhate /
alamati vistareṇa //

deśastu darśita eva "dakṣiṇasya havirdhānasya' ityā dinā / sarvatrāpi prakramairmāne aparasmādvedyāntāt prakramatrayamavaśiṣya navārātni sadaḥ / uttaravedeḥ paścātprakramatrayamavaśiṣya navārātni havirdhānam / padamāne tūktapramāṇānāṃ sadohavirdhānottaravedīnāmasaṃbhavādvedyanuguṇo nirdvāsaḥ kartavyaḥ / cātvālastu śamyāmātra eva sarvatrāpi / "śamyāmātraśvātvālaḥ' iti bodhāyanavacanāt / atra ślokāḥ----

mīyate saumikī vediḥ prakramairdvidaśāṅgulaiḥ /
ādau triṣu nava dvyekacandradviśarabhūdviṣu // .1 //
ekaikadviśaraikeṣu śaṅkavo daśa pañca ca /
ṣaṭtriṃśikā mānarajjuḥ tasyā dvyāṣṭasu lakṣaṇam // .2 //
vimāne pāśayormadhye prakramā dvādaśa smṛtāḥ /
śroṇī pañcamoneṣu sado'nantaraturyayoḥ // .3 //
tatkoṇaḥ pañcamoneṣu bhāskareṣu daśasvapi /
tṛtīye dvyantarā dhiṣṇyāsteṣāṃ prādeśato bhramaḥ // .4 //
rudreṣu saptadaśasu śaṅkū pādoniteṣviha /
āgnīdhraṃ tatpañcame tu dhiṣṇyau dvādaśasu smṛtau // .5 //
ṣaṣṭhe syātpañcake dhānaṃ pañcāśaddvitayānvite /
saptame prāgvadāgnīdhraṃ navame manuṣūtkaraḥ // .6 //
ekādaśe havirdhānaṃ pāśau vyātyasya pūrvavat /
ṣoḍaśasvardhahīneṣu śāmitro dvādaśe bhavet // .7 //
uttarārdhāttṛtīye tu trayodaśacaturdaśe /
śaṅkoruttaravediḥsyāddvayoḥsārdhamupāntyayoḥ // .8 //
antime dvādaśasvaṃsau cātvālalo'sādudakkrame /
puraḥ paścātsadodhānācyajetprakrama pañcakam // .9 //
dakṣiṇe tu havirdhāne paścāctrīn prakramāṃstyajet /
pārśvadvayo prakramau dvau aṅguladvayasaṃyutau // .10 //
aratnimātraṃ madhye coparavāṇāṃ tu lakṣaṇam /
evameva vimāṃna syātpadairapi caturvidhaiḥ // .11 //

padaṃ pañcamasaṃyuktaṃ dhiṣṇyaviṣkambha iṣyate /

śamyāmātrastu cātvālo vyāktaṃ bodhāyano'bravīt /
anyathāgnau virodhaḥsyāt mānaṃ cānyanna vidyate // .11 //
