The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Sulba-sutra with the commentaries of Kapardin, Karavinda and Sundararaja. The Sulbasutras are considered Vedic appendices and deals with the ancient Indian science of Mathematics and Geometry, by instructing the construction of fire-altars, among others. Original titles: Āpastambaśulbasūtra (आपस्तम्बशुल्बसूत्र), Kapardin (कपर्दिन्), Karavinda (करविन्द), Sundararāja (सुन्दरराज)

tāṃ yugena yajamānasya padair vimāya śamyayā parimimīte || ĀpŚus_6.9 ||

yugenoktapamāṇena yajamānasya padaiḥ / yajamānagrahaṇādadhvaryorna labhyate / yajamānagrahaṇaṃ pradarśanārthamiti kecit / tasmādeva vacanāduttaravediryugamātrī labhyate / some padamānāyāṃ mahāvedyāṃ uttaravediṃ yugena padairvā vimāya śaulbena mānena paścācchamyayā mānamadṛṣṭārthaṃ kartavyam / śamyayā parimimīta ityetadvacanamadṛṣṭārthaṃ na pramāṇavidhiḥ iyuktaṃ bhavati /

mahāvedyāṃ prathamanihatācchaṅkoḥ purastātpañcaviṃśatiṣu śaṅkuṃ nihatya tatpurastādṛśasu śaṅkuṃ nihatya pañcadaśikenetyādinā viharet //

tator'dhena pañcapadenetyarthaḥ / "sarvato daśapadā' iti śatapathabrāhnaṇe śrūyate "pramāṇena pramāṇaṃ vidhīyate śaturaśramiti tadanirūpakṣe trato daśapada

iti kātyāyanaḥ /
asmin pakṣe padavistāraṃ tripadāyāmaṃ dīrghacaturaśraṃ vihṛtya tasyākṣṇayārajjupramāṇottaravediḥ /
asminnapi pakṣe etatkaraṇyardhena śroṇyaṃsānāṃ viharaṇam //

tāmuttaravediṃ yugapramāṇena / taduktaṃ "ṣaḍaśītiryugam' iti /

tena yajamānasya padairvimāya paścādadṛṣṭārthaṃ śamyayā sarvato mimīte /
śamyāpramāṇaṃ coktaṃ sūtrāntare "ṣaṭtriṃśacchamyā' iti paśubandhe tvanyasyābhāvāt parimāṇārthameva śamyāvidhānam /
mātraivāsyai seti liṅgācca /
asmādeva vacanāt saumikyuttaravediryugamāyapi labhyate (bhavati) //

yugamapi daśapadāyā eva mānasādhanaṃ veṇuvat / kecit tasyatantraṃ pramāṇamāhuḥ, atadvicāraṇīyaṃ sūribhiḥ / yajamānagrahaṇaṃ adhvaryunivṛcyartham / śamyayā parimāṇamadṛṣṭārtham /
