The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Sulba-sutra with the commentaries of Kapardin, Karavinda and Sundararaja. The Sulbasutras are considered Vedic appendices and deals with the ancient Indian science of Mathematics and Geometry, by instructing the construction of fire-altars, among others. dakṣiṇataḥ purastād vitṛtīyadeśe gārhapatyasya nedīyasi dakṣiṇāgner vijñāyate || ĀpŚus_4.3 ||
dakṣiṇataḥ purastāt dakṣiṇāprākkoṇe deśe vitṛtīyadeśe--īṣadūnatṛtīyadeśe--kasya vitṛtīyadeśaḥ--gārhapatyāhavanīyayorantarālasya nedīyasi āsannatṛtīyadeśe pārśvādityarthaḥ / tatra dakṣiṇāgnerāyatanamiti śrūyate /
dakṣiṇataḥ purastāt dakṣiṇāprākkoṇadeśe tasya gārhapatyasya nedīyasi sannikṛṣṭe tasyaiva vitṛtīyadeśe viśabdo hīnavacanaḥ kiñciddhīnatṛtīyadeśāntarāle dakṣiṇāgrerāyatanaṃ śrūyate //
dakṣiṇāgrayāyatanavidhānāthamāha /
vitṛtīyadeśe vikalatṛtīyadeśe īṣadūnatṛtīyadeśa ityarthaḥ /
gārhapatyasya dakṣiṇataḥ purastāttasyaiva nedīyasi vitṛtīyadeśe dakṣiṇāgrerāyatanamiti //
