The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Grihya-sutra with the commentaries of Haradatta (called the Anakula-vritti) and Sudarshana (called the Grihyatatparyadarshana-vyakhya). The Apastamba Grihyasutra is a short treatise on Vedic rituals which, together with the Hiranyakeshin-grihya-sutra, belongs to the Taittiriya School of the Black Yajur-Veda. āgārasthūṇāvirohaṇe madhuna upaveśane kuptvāṃ kapotapadadarśane'mātyānāṃ śarīrareṣaṇe'nyeṣu cādbhutotpāteṣvamāvāsyāyāṃ niśāyāṃ yatrāpāṃ na śṛṇuyāttadagnerupasamādhānādyājyabhāgānta uttarā āhutīrhutvā jayādi pratipadyate // ĀpGs_23.9 //

tasya (adbhutasyādṛṣṭacarasya) utpāta upajanaḥ yadvā ūrdhvabhavā
adbhutāviśeṣā evotpātāḥ divyā āntarikṣyāśca /
rātrāvindradhanurlohinī dyaurāditye kīladarśanamityādayaḥ /
tasmin pakṣe'dbhutaśabdena bhaumānyucyante govalīvardanyāyena /
dvandvaśca samāsaḥ /
tatrodāharaṇarūpeṇa kānicidadbhutāni darśayati- agārasthūṇeti /
virehaṇaṃ aṅkuropajananam /
agāragrahaṇāt ātmīyeṣvapi śūdrarṛhādiṣu na bhavati /
madhuna upaveśane agāre ityeva /

kapotasya pakṣiṇa āraṇyasyapadadarśane pacanāgāre tasmin praviṣṭa ityarthaḥ /

atra prāyaścittam- amāvāsyāthāṃ niśāyāṃ caturdhāvibhaktāyāṃ rātreḥ dvatīyo bhāgo nśā /
yatra pradeśe apāṃ kumbhairudadhāneṣvānīyamānānāṃ śabdaṃ na śṛṇuyāt tatra pradeśe'gnerupasamādhānādyuttarā āhutaya ekādaśa imaṃ me varuṇa ityādayaḥ /
prajāpata iti'prajāpate na tvadetānī'tyeṣā gṛhyate /
prasiddheḥ, na'prajāpate tvaṃ nidhipā'ityeṣā /
prajāpate natvaditi cahutvā pradhānahurtārjuhuyāt iti tantraśeṣaṃ pratipadyate /
ājyabhāgānta ityevaṃ tantrasamāptau siddhāyāṃ agnerupamādhānādivacanaṃ agnimātrasyopasamādhānārtham /
tena aupāsanābhāve laukike'pi bhavati /
evaṃprakārāṇāmeteṣāṃ naimittikānāṃ dṛṣṭaphalānāṃ ca paṇyahomādīnāṃ anyasminnapyagnau pravṛttipradarśanārtha sarvānte agnividhānārtho yatnaḥ kṛtaḥ /
dayādi vacanamānantaryārtham /
pradhānāhutyanantaraṃ jayādyeva prati patyate, na sūtrāntaradṛśṭā āhutayo'smin tantre hotavyāḥ iti /
kāḥ punastāḥ?kapotaścedagāramupahanyādanupatedvā devāḥ kapotaḥ iti pratyṛcaṃ juhuyāt japedvā /

ekapātrabhojanāḥ putrabhrātrādayaḥ teṣāṃ bahūnāṃ santataṃ śarīrareṣaṇe śarīranāśane maraṇa ityarthaḥ /
kecit-amātyānāṃ yugapadvyādhāvapīti /
anyeṣu cādubhutotpāteṣu uktebhyo'nyeṣu gṛhamadhye valmīkajananādiṣvadibhuteṣu usāteṣu ca dṛṣeṣu satsu tatsūcitaduritaśāntyādikāmo'māvāsyāyāṃ niśāyāṃ rātryāṃ muhūrtadvayādūrdhvam /
kecit-dvitīye yāma iti /
yatrāpāṃ vahantīnāṃ śabdaṃ na śṛṇuyāt kecit-kumbhairudadhāneṣvānīyamānāsviti /
tathābūte deśe agnerupasamādhānādi tantraṃ pratipadyate /
