The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Grihya-sutra with the commentaries of Haradatta (called the Anakula-vritti) and Sudarshana (called the Grihyatatparyadarshana-vyakhya). The Apastamba Grihyasutra is a short treatise on Vedic rituals which, together with the Hiranyakeshin-grihya-sutra, belongs to the Taittiriya School of the Black Yajur-Veda. tatastadagāraṃ sammitaṃ saṃkḷptaṃ uttarairmantraiḥ'brahma ca te kṣatra'mityādibhiṣṣaḍbhiḥ /
kim?abhimantrayate ityeva /

yathāliṅgamiti yasyāgārāṅgasya liṅgaṃ yasmin mantre dṛśyate tena tadabhimukho'gāramabhimantrayata ityarthaḥ /
yadāpi pūrvasthūṇā baddhā tadāpi dve evābhisandhāyābhimantraṇam /
agārasya dvivacanasaṃyogāt /
evaṃ sarvatra agāramadhye yaḥ sthūṇārājaḥ stūpaḥ /
pṛṣṭhavaṃśaḥ atraike sthūṇāliṅgeṣu caturṣu mantreṣu'sthūṇe abhirakṣatu'ityevamanuṣaṅgāmcchanti /
yajñaśca dakṣiṇāśca dakṣiṇe sthūṇe abhirakṣatu iti /
anye'te'śabdasyāpi-yajñaśca te dakṣiṇāśceti /
sākāṃkṣatvānmantrāṇām, neti vayam /
dhakṣiṇā iṣaścorjaścetibahuvacanāntaiḥ abhirakṣatvityekavacanāntasya sambandhānupapatteḥ, ūhasya cāvidhānāt abhyātānavat pāṭhābhāvacca sarvānuṣaṅgeṣu dṛṣṭasyānte punaḥ pāṭhasyābhāvācca /
yattu sākāṃkṣatvamuktaṃ tadapi nānuṣaṅgahetuḥ sannidhimātreṇākāṅkṣāyā nivartanāt /
yadi dharmaste sthūṇārāja śrīste ityatrābhirakṣatvityasya nāpekṣā , dvayorapi prathamāntatvāt /
evaṃ dakṣiṇā ityādikaṃ prathamāntaṃ draṣṭavyam /
tasmādākāṅkṣaiva nāsti /

Sudarśana’s Gṛhyatātparyadarśana-vyākhyā (sūtra 17.6)

sammitaṃ nirmitamagāraṃ uttarāḥ'brahma ca te kṣatraṃ ca'ityādibhiḥ pañcabhirmantraiḥ yathāliṅgaṃ mantraliṅgāvagatadiṅmukho'bhimantrayate tatra pañcamena madhyamābhimukhaḥ, ananvitatvāt /

kecit-ṣaḍbhiḥ /
tatra'dharmaste sthūṇārājaḥ'iti madhyamaśca'śrīste stūpaḥ'iti pṛṣṭhavaṃśamiti /

atra yadyapi mantrairagārāvayavāssthūṇāḥ stūyante;tathāpyebhiḥ sthūṇāvadagārameva stūyate, yathā pādavandanena pādavāneva vandyate /

atra kecit-dvitīyādiṣu triṣu mantreṣu vākyasamāptyartha'sthūṇe abhirakṣatu'ityādyanuṅgaṃ manyante /

anye'te'śabdasyāpi /
tathā'dharmaste'ityādau abhirakṣatvityasya ca /

apare tu-naiveha kasyācitkvacidapyanuṣaṅgaḥ;anuṣajyamānasya vairūpyāt, ante'pi ca pāṭhābhāvācca /
vākyasamāptistu prakṛtatayā buddhisthapadārthānvayātsidhyati, yathā'iṣe tvā'(tai.saṃ.1-1-1)iti mantrasya buddhisthacchedanānvayāt chinadbhīti vākyasamāptiriti //6//
