sakṛt na prativatasaraṃ kalau gorālambhsya nṣedhādraurityuttkā yajño vardhatāmityādi japet madhyamantralopaḥ)pravaktre vedasya vedārthasya ca citrāya prasiddhāya bhinnasaṃśayāyetyarthaḥ /
evaṃ bhūtāyopasthitāya sakṛdetadapacitikarma kartavyaṃ, na pratisaṃvatsaramiti //21//________________________


Sudarśana’s Gṛhyatātparyadarśana-vyākhyā (sūtra 13.20)

pravaktā yaḥ padavākyapramāṇābhyāṃ prakarṣeṇa vakti sādhuśabdānāmuccārayitā, pramāṇopaṃpannaṃ vyākhyātā cetyarthaḥ /
citraḥ prakāśaḥ loke prasiddha ityarthaḥ . idaṃ pravaktureva viśeṣaṇam /
tasmai sakṛdevaitat gārhya gerahitaṃ kāryam /
ayaṃ ca pravaktā na vedādhyāyaḥ /
sa hi gomadhiparkarahaḥ /
yassaṣaḍaṅgaṃ vedamadhīte, arthāśca jānāti sa vedādhyāyaḥ /
nanu-sāmayācārike gomadhuparke dharmā nopadiṣṭāḥ, sa kathaṃ kartavyaḥ?ucyate-nāmadheyaṃ dharmagrāhakamti mīmāṃsakāḥ /
tena gṛhye yājñikaprasiddhyā madhuparkasaṃśike karmaṇi upadiṣṭā eva dharmāḥ'gomadhiparkarahaḥ'ityatra madhuparkanāmnā atidiśyante,'māsamagnihetraṃ juhoti'itivat /
'dadhimantho madhumanthaḥ'(madhuparkaḥ)(āpa. śrau.6-32-5) ityatra tu dakṣiṇādravyasya karmavaddhamārkaaṅkṣā bhāvānnātideśaḥ /
atra ca vedādhyāyātithipūjāyām ayaṃ viśeṣaḥ,'dadhimadhusaṃsṛṣṭaṃ madhuparkaḥ'iti pratyakṣavidhānādatideśaprāptaṃ trivṛttvaṃ pāṅktatvaṃ ca bādhyata(āpa.śrau.2-8-8) iti /
ayamatra niścitor'thaḥ ācāryāyartvije vedādhyāyāya śvaśurāya rājñe ca dakṣiṇārthādhikagavā vinā gārhyaḥ sāmayācāriko madhiparkaḥ kāryaḥ /
parisaṃvatsarādipāgatebhyaḥ punaḥ punaḥ kāryaḥ /
avedādhyāyāya śvaśurāyādhikagavā vinā gārhyaḥ

atithivarāpacitebhyo vedādhyāyebhyaḥ saha gavā dharmoktaḥ /
avedādhyāyābhyāṃ tu varāpacitābhyāṃ snātakāya ca snānadina evāgatāya gavā vinā gṛhyokto dharmokto /
prakāśāya ca pravaktre vinā gavā gārhyaḥ /
ācāryādibhyaścaturbhyo'nyeṣāṃ sakṛdeveti /

kecit atra yogavibhāgamāhuḥ /
ācāryādibhya;caturbhya etatkāryamityeko yogaḥ /
tena vivāhānantaramācāryaśvaśurābhyāṃ nimantryāpi pūjā kāryā /
anyathā saṃvatsaramapi proṣitābhyāṃ sakṛdapi na sidhyet /
ṛtvije ca karmaṇi karmaṇi pūjā kāryā /
rājñe cābhiṣiktāya niyamenaiva /

tathā'parisaṃvatsarādupatiṣṭhadbhyaḥ punaḥ punaḥ'ityanyo yogaḥ /
spaṣṭaścāyaṃ sāmayācārikeṣu vibhāgaḥ,'gomadhuparkarahaḥ'iti pūrva vidhāya, paścāt'ācāryāya'ityādinā punarvidhānāt /
pūrvayoge ca śvaśuraśabdo nipātayitavyaḥ /
na cātrānya- taravidhyārambho vyarthaḥ /
sāmayācārikeṣu sarvācaraṇārthena vihitāyāṃ pūjāyāṃ, gārhyasyāsmadīyānāṃ dharmātideśārthatvāt /
na ca nāmnā dharmātideśaḥ, gomadhuparkaśabdayoḥ'madhumantho madhuparkaḥ'; itivat dravyābhidhāyakatvāt /
ator'thabhedāt gṛhye dharme ca vidhyārambhorthavān /
tathā vedasya vedārthasya ca pravaktre ctrāya etatsakṛtkāryamiti /
