The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Grihya-sutra with the commentaries of Haradatta (called the Anakula-vritti) and Sudarshana (called the Grihyatatparyadarshana-vyakhya). The Apastamba Grihyasutra is a short treatise on Vedic rituals which, together with the Hiranyakeshin-grihya-sutra, belongs to the Taittiriya School of the Black Yajur-Veda. tataḥ snānīyaiḥ snānārhaaiḥ klītakādibhiḥ ucchāditaḥ udvartitaḥ apakṛṣṭamalaḥ punarapi tabhirevādbhiḥ snātaḥ uttareṇa yajuṣā'somasya tanūrasi'ityanena ahatamantaraṃ vāsaḥ yena kaṭiḥ pracchadyate tadantaramityucyate /yena bahirnīvi pracchādanaṃ upavītaṃ vā kriyate tadittaramiti /
tayorantaraṃ vāsaḥ paridhāya caturthyānulepanaṃ karoti /

tasmādiyamoṣadhistrāyamāṇeti bhavitavyam /

atha bādaraṃ badurībījena kalpitamevameva sūtrotamudapātre triḥ pradakṣiṇaṃ pariplāvya savye pāṇāvābadhnāti /
tūṣṇāmeva pariplāvane ca bandhane ca mantrapratiṣedhaḥ /
punarmaṇigrahaṇādupadhānamasya na bhavati /
sūtrotastu bhavati /
ābadhya maṇiṃ tata uttaraṃ vāsaḥ karoti āhatameva /
tatra revatīstvetyevamādi karma samānamupanayanenaiva pratyetavyam /
revatīstvetyetābhiriti vā uttarābhirityeva vā siddhe samānavacanamupanayanavate prayogārtham /
tena uttarābhyāmabhimantreyotyādi parihitānumantraṇāntaṃ guroḥ karma //7//

snānopakaraṇaiḥ klītakamadhūkacūrṇādibhiḥ udvartitadehaḥ āmala kapiṣṭādibhiḥ snānīyaissnātaśca bhavati //7//'somasya tanūrasi'ityanena yajuṣā ahatamantaraṃ vāsaḥ antarvāso'ntarīyamityarthaḥ /
tat paridadhāti /
anena sūtreṇāta ūrdhva snātakasya nityamantarvāso vidhīyate /
yajuḥ punaḥ karmārthameva, makāraṇāmnānāt /
tatassārvasurabhiṇā sarvaiḥ kastūrikādibhirgamdhadravyairvāsitena candanena anulimpatīti vyavahitena sambandhaḥ /
kathamanulimpati ?ityatrāha-uttarairityādi /
'namo grahāya ca'; ityādibhistribhirmantraiḥ devatābhyaścandanaṃ pūrva pradāya, paścāt'apsarassu yo gandhaḥ'ityanayā ātmāna manulimpati /
mukhasya cāgre'nulepaḥ,'mukhamagre brāhmaṇo limpet'(āśva.gṛ.3-7-10) ityāśvalāyanagṛhyāt . devatābhyaḥ pradānaṃ ca namaśsabdena, na tu mantrāntena;namaskārasyāpi pradānārthatvāt /
maṇiṃ kīdṛśaṃ? sauvarṇa suvarṇavikāram /
sopadhānaṃ vajravaiḍūryādinā ubhayataḥ parigṛhītam /
sītrotaṃ sūtraprotam'iyamoṣadhe trāyamāṇā'ityetayā sakṛduccaritayā udapātre pradakṣiṇa mavirataṃ triḥ pariplāvya, uttarayā 'apāśo'syuro me'ityādikayā'puṇyāya'ityantayā tryavasānayā taṃ maṇiṃ grīvasu kaṇṭhe ābadhya, badarībījamayaṃ bādaraṃ sūtrotameva maṇimevamevodapātre triḥ pradakṣiṇaṃ tūṣṇīṃ pariplāvya, tūṣṇīmeva savye pāṇāvābadhnāti /
ahatamuttaraṃ vāsaḥ paridhānīyameva, na tu uttarīyam /
tadupanayanena samānam /
svayaṃ paridadhāti, ihācāryābhāvāt /
tataśca'revatīstvā'; iti dvābhyāṃ paridhānīyaṃ vāso'bhimantrya'yā akṛntan'iti tisṛbhiḥ paridhāya'parīdaṃ vāsaḥ'ityanumantrayate /
'revatīstve ti samānam'iti vacanabalācca mantrasthayuṣmadarthaliṅgabādha eva /
yadvā anyo vidvān brāhmaṇaḥ revatīstveti samānaṃ karoti /
kutaḥ punaḥ'ahatamuttaraṃ vāsaḥ'ityanenāpi paridhānamevocyate nottarīyam?ucyate-rovatīstveti samānamupanayaneneti vacanāt upanayane ca'tisṛbhiḥ paridhāpya parihtamuttarayā, (āpa.gṛ.10-10)iti paridhānārthavāso'vagamāt /
