The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Grihya-sutra with the commentaries of Haradatta (called the Anakula-vritti) and Sudarshana (called the Grihyatatparyadarshana-vyakhya). The Apastamba Grihyasutra is a short treatise on Vedic rituals which, together with the Hiranyakeshin-grihya-sutra, belongs to the Taittiriya School of the Black Yajur-Veda. upavāsaḥ ubhayorapi
kālayorabhojanaṃ, prasiddheḥ anugamanānantarameva cāgniprakalpanaṃ sarvaprāyaścittahomaśca /
nanvanugato manthya iti prakṛtaṃ tatkimanugata iti nimittanirdeśena ? ucyate-dampatyoḥ prasthānamiha prakṛtam /
tāṃ tataḥ pra vā vāhayediti /
prāsahgikastvagnidharmaḥ /
tataścopavāsavidhirapi prasithānaśeṣa eva vijñāyeta /
tathā ca'trirātramubhayoradhaśśayyā barahmacarya'mityādīnāṃ prāsaṅgikena saṃbandho na bhavati /
kintu prākaraṇikenaiva /
anugate ubhayorupavāso'nyatarasya vetyeva siddhe bhāryāyāḥ patyuśceti pṛthaṅnirdeśaḥ kathamasyāgneratyantaṃ bhāryāsaṃbandhaḥ pratijñāpitasyāditi /
ata eva bhāryāyāḥ pūrvavirdeśaḥ tena yasmin karmaṇi bhāryāyāssahatvaṃ nāsti yathopākaraṇasamāpanayostasyaitasminnagnāvapravṛttiḥ /
sapatnībādhanādau ca pattyussahatvābhāve'pi bhāryāsabandhādevāsminnagnau pravṛttiḥ //18//

yadyahani rātrau vā prāgbhojanādanugatistadā mathitvā'hṛtya vā'yatrakvace'ti vidhinepasamādhāya'yadyavijñātā sarvavyāpadvā'; iti
sarvaprāyaścittaṃ hutvā kālaśeṣamupavaset /
yadi bhojanādūrdhva tadā tatkālaśeṣamāgāmikālaṃ ca /
sarvatā tu vijñātamātra evānugamane utpādanādi kāryam, nimittānantaraṃ naimittikasyāvaśyakartavyatvāt //
anye tu- bhāryāpatyorubhayorapyupavāso na vikalpaḥ, svāmitvāviśeṣāt,'parvasu cobhayorupavāsaḥ'(āpa. dha.2-1-4) iti smārte samuccayasya dṛṣṭatvācca /
vāśabdastu cārtha iti /
teṣāmupavāsaścānyatarasyetyetāvadevālaṃ sūtram /
arthādeva svāminorubhayorapyupavāso bhaviṣyati //
kecit -'upavāsaścānyatarasya bhāryāyāḥ patyurvānugate'iti sūtraṃ chitvā vyavahitānvayakalpanayā vyācakṣate- anugato'gnau bāryāyāḥ patyuścopavāso'nyatarasya veti /
atra prakṛte'pi punaranugata iti grahaṇamadhikayatnamantareṇaivaṃvidhānāṃ prāsaṅgikārthatā na syāt, kintu paramaprakṛtārthataiveti jñāpayitumiti //19//
