The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Grihya-sutra with the commentaries of Haradatta (called the Anakula-vritti) and Sudarshana (called the Grihyatatparyadarshana-vyakhya). The Apastamba Grihyasutra is a short treatise on Vedic rituals which, together with the Hiranyakeshin-grihya-sutra, belongs to the Taittiriya School of the Black Yajur-Veda. anyatra mantravanti catvāri pariṣecanāni //7//


sannamanaṃ sannāmaḥ , ūha ityarthaḥ /
'anumanyasve'tyasyā'nvamaṃsthā'iti sannāmaḥ /
'prasuve'tyasya'prāsāvī'riti /
prāk pariṣecanāt tūṣṇīṃ paridhīnāṃ praharaṇam /
purastādupahomānāmekaviṃśatyā samidho'bhyādhānam /
barhiranupraharaṇamādyahomeṣu nāsti, lepayorityasyā samidho'bhyādhānam /
barhiranupraharaṇamājyahomeṣu nāsti, lepayorityasya pakhvahomaviṣayatvāt /
pariṣecanānte praṇītāvimokaḥ /
brahmā ca karmānte yathetaṃ pratiniṣkāmati /
mantrasannāma iti mantragrahaṇaṃ mantrāṇāmayasūhavidhiryathāsvāt, anyathāgnerapi sannāmassambhāvyeta /

Sudarśana’s Gṛhyatātparyadarśana-vyākhyā (sūtra 2.8)

agni pariṣecanaṃ pūrvavat /
ayaṃ tu viśeṣaḥ, adite'numanyasvetyādiṣu triṣu anumanyasvetyasya sthāne'anvamaṃsthāḥ'iti , devasavitarityatra'prasuva'ityasya sthāne'prāsāvīḥ'iti /
atra śrautavat praṇītā vimuñcati tūṣṇīm;kṛtakāryāṇāmāsāṃ pratipattyapekṣatvāt, praṇītādbhyo diśo'bhyupanīya'(bau.gṛ.1-4-38) iti bodhāyanavacanāt, ācārācca /
brāhmaṇaśca yathāśakti dānamānādinā satkṛto gacchet //


atreyaṃ sthitiḥ- agnimidhvetyādi mantrasannāma ityantaḥ prācyodīcyāṅigasamudāyaḥ sarvagārhyapradhānahomānāṃ sādhāraṇaḥ,'yathopadeśaṃ pradhānāhutīrhutvā'iti prācyodīcyapadārthāpekṣayā homānāṃ viśeṣaṇaṃ prādhānyābhidhānāt /
evañcāhomeṣu nāmakaraṇādiṣu tantrasyāprasahga eva /

nanvevaṃ'agnerupasamādhānādyājyabhāgānte'iti kimarthastatra tatra punarupadeśaḥ?utyate- yatra punaḥ'apivottarayā juhuyāt'(āpa.gṛ.5-20)

'kāmamanyubhyāṃ juhuyāt'(āpa.dha.1-26-13) ityādiṣu nopadeśaḥ naivatatredaṃ tantramiti niyamārthaḥ /
kuta etat ? kevalājyahaviṣveva prayodanāntaramantareṇāsya tantrasyopadeśāt /
upākaraṇasamāpanādīnāṃ tu tatra tantropadeśābhāv'pi'kūśmāṇḍairjuhuyādghṛtam'ityāderiva tantrārthitvāvagamāt anena sādhāraṇavidhānenaiva tantram /
tantrārtitvāvagamastu gṛhyāntareṣu tantravatāmevopadeśāt /

āpastambadarśanānugatopadeśāt, avigītaśiṣṭācārācca /

yadyevamājyauṣadhahaviṣke'pi vivāhe kimarthastantropadeśaḥ? /
ucyatelājahomānāṃ kṛtsnavidhānena tantrānapekṣatvāt /
upanayanādivadājyahomārta eva tantropadośaḥ /
tatā'tasminnupaviśata uttaro varaḥ'(āpa.gṛ4-9) ityasyānantaramevagnerupasamādhānādi, na tu'yathāsthānamupaviśya'; (āpa.gṛ.5-10) ityasyānantaramiti kramārthaśca /
tatā kevalauṣadhahaviṣi sthālīpāke'pi kramārtha eva /
yadyapi śraute darśanāt pātraprokṣaṇānantaramavaghātādi yuktam, tathāpyetadvacanabalāt tantrāt purastādeveti /
aiśāne'pi sthālīpāke sthaṇḍilakalpanānte ttram, natu pārvaṇavadgṛha eva pratiṣṭhitābhighāraṇānantaramiti kramārtha eva /

kecit-kalpāntaravihiteṣu apārvaṇātideśeṣu ājyahomeṣu tantrārthiṣu'kūśmāṇḍairjuhuyādghṛtam'ityādiṣvasya tantrasya prāptyarta yathopadeśamiti sāmānyavidhānam /
atratyeṣu tu vivāhādiṣu yeṣveva punarvidhānaṃ tatraiva, nānyatra paṇyahomādiṣviti niyamārtha tatra tatra tantravidhānam /
pitryeṣu tu'ekaikaśaḥ pitṛsaṃyuktāni'(āpa.gṛ.1-18) ityādiviśeṣavidhānāt tantrasiddhiriti //8//


evaṃ sarvagārhyahomānāṃ sādhāraṇaṃ smārta vidhimuktvā, idānīṃ pākayajñeṣu vaikalpikaṃ śrautaṃ vidhimāha--
