The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Grihya-sutra with the commentaries of Haradatta (called the Anakula-vritti) and Sudarshana (called the Grihyatatparyadarshana-vyakhya). The Apastamba Grihyasutra is a short treatise on Vedic rituals which, together with the Hiranyakeshin-grihya-sutra, belongs to the Taittiriya School of the Black Yajur-Veda. yena juhoti tadagnau pratitapya darbhaiḥ saṃmṛjya punaḥ pratitapya prokṣya nidhāya darbhānadbhissaṃspṛśyāgnau praharati // ĀpGs_2.1 //
pratitapanaṃ nyagbhūtasya tapanam /
agnigrahaṇamanardhakam , anyatra pratitapanasyāsambhavāt /
tatkriyate darśapūrṇamāsayossammārjane ye dharmāsteṣāmiha prāptyarthamāhavanīye gārhapatye vā coditaṃ yatpratitapanaṃ tadasminnagnau bhavatīti /
agnimātraṃ bhidyate /
anyat samānaṃ"suvamagrairityādi (āpa.śrau.2-44) /
agnau praharatīti punaragnigrahaṇaṃ suksaṃmārjanadharmā iha pravartanta iti /
pākayajñeṣu ca darvyā homaḥ, kalpāntare dṛṣṭatvāddarśanācca /
yajayaṃ samāvartane darvyāmādāyājyenābhyānāyannityanyapare vākye darvīṃ prāptāṃ darśayati /
yaccāyaṃ sakṛdupahatyeti upaghātaṃ sthālīpākāddarśayati tadapi nādarvyāmupapadyate /
tatrājyahomeṣvekā darvī /
sthālīpākeṣu dve homārtha cāvadānārtha ca /
ubhayorapi sammārjanam /
avadānasya homārthatvāt yathāgnihotre sruvasya /
tatra darvīmagnau pratitapyeti vaktavyam /
yena juhotīti kimucyate ?
"madhyamenāntamena vā palāśaparṇeme"tyatrāpi yathā syāt, agnihotre āgnihotrike ca tantre yathā syāditi /
yadyevamañjalerapi prasaṅgaḥ /
vivāhasarpayajñādiṣu jñāpakāt siddham /

darvyādīnāṃ trayāṇāṃ tantravaddhomeṣveva saṃskāraḥ, atantrakeṣu tantrāntargatadharmānupapatte- /
tena'anugato'pi vottarayā juhuyāt'(āpa.gṛ.5-20)'sarṣapān phalīkaraṇamiśrān'(āpa.gṛ.15-6) ityādiṣu na darvyādīnāṃ saṃskāra- /
atrāgnau pratitapyāgnau praharatītyarthasddhāgnigrahaṇamevanāmāyaṃ kṛtsnavidhiriti jñāpayitum /

iha ca sammārgadarbhāṇāmagnāveva praharaṇam, na punarvaikalpikam /

'madhyamenāntamena vā palāśaparṇena'(āpa.gṛ.22-4) ityādyatantrake'pi karmaṇi āgnihotrike ca vidhau homārthapātrasyāpi saṃskāro yathā syādityevamartham /
añjalestvapūpahome avadānaprāptyarthema'pārvaṇavat"(āpa.gṛ.22-1) iti yantenāñjalihomā apūrvā yāvaduktadharmāṇa iti
