The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Grihya-sutra with the commentaries of Haradatta (called the Anakula-vritti) and Sudarshana (called the Grihyatatparyadarshana-vyakhya). The Apastamba Grihyasutra is a short treatise on Vedic rituals which, together with the Hiranyakeshin-grihya-sutra, belongs to the Taittiriya School of the Black Yajur-Veda. saṃmārjanaṃ sugvat /
pratitapanaṃ nyagbhūtasya tapanam /
agnigrahaṇamanardhakam , anyatra pratitapanasyāsambhavāt /
tatkriyate darśapūrṇamāsayossammārjane ye dharmāsteṣāmiha prāptyarthamāhavanīye gārhapatye coditaṃ yatpratitapanaṃ tadasminnagnau bhavatīti /
agnimātraṃ bhidyate /

anyat samānaṃ"suvamagrairityādi (āpa.śrau.2-44) /
agnau praharatīti punaragnigrahaṇaṃ suksaṃmārjanadharmā iha pravartanta iti /
pākayajñeṣu ca darvyā homaḥ, kalpāntare dṛṣṭatvāddarśanācca /
yajayaṃ samāvartane darvyāmādāyājyenābhyānāyannityanyapare vākye darvīṃ prāptāṃ darśayati /
yaccāyaṃ sakṛdupahatyeti upaghātaṃ sthālīpākāddarśayati tadapi nādarvyāmupapadyate /
tatrājyahomeṣvekā darvī /
sthālīpākeṣu dve homārtha cāvadānārtha ca /

ubhayorapi sammārjanam /
avadānasya homārthatvāt yathāgnihotre sruvasya /
tatra darvīmagnau pratitapyeti vaktavyam /
yena juhotīti kimucyate ?

"madhyamenāntamena palāśaparṇeme"tyatrāpi yathā syāt, agnihotre āgnihotrike ca tantre yathā syāditi /
yadyevamañjalerapi prasaṅgaḥ /

vivāhasarpayajñādiṣu jñāpakāt siddham /
yadayamaupakārye pārvaṇavaditi yatnaṃ karoti tat jñāpayati-añjalihomā adharmagrāhakāḥ yāvaduktadharmāṇa iti /

Sudarśana’s Gṛhyatātparyadarśana-vyākhyā (sūtra 2.1)

yena pātreṇa darvyā sruveṇāñjalinā juhoti tadagnau pratitapyetyādi vyaktārtham /
darvyāśca homapātratvaṃ'darvyāmādhāyājyenābhyānāyan'(āpa.gṛ.12-9) ityanyapare vākye siddhavaddarśanāt, ācārācca /
bodhāyanenatu'niṛtigṛhītā darvī'iti

darvīnindā snuvavidhānārthā, na tu darvyā niṣedhārthā /
ato darvīsnuvayorvikalpaḥ /
tatra kevalājyahomeṣu ekaiva darvī sruvo , upastaraṇādyabhāvāt /
carvādihomeṣu tu dve darvyau sruvau upastaraṇādyartha homārtha ca /
upastaraṇādyarthasyāpi saṃskāraḥ, upastaraṇādi pradānāntasya homapadārthatvāt, śraute sruvasyāpi saṃskāradarśanāt, ācārācca /
darvyādīnāṃ trayāṇāṃ tantravaddhomeṣveva saṃskāraḥ, atantrakeṣu tantrāntargatadharmānupapatte- /
tena'anugato'pi vottarayā juhuyāt'(āpa.gṛ.5-20)'sarṣapān phalīkaraṇamiśrān'(āpa.gṛ.15-6) ityādiṣu na darvyādīnāṃ saṃskāra- /
atrāgnau pratitapyāgnau praharatītyarthasddhāgnigrahaṇamevanāmāyaṃ kṛtsnavidhiriti jñāpayitum /
tena'sruvamagre'(tai.brā.3.3-1)

ityādyaiṣṭikasruksaṃmārjanadharmāṇāmihānupapattiprasaṅga eva /

kecit-āgnau pratitapyāgnau praharatīti prayojanāntaraśūnyādagnigrahaṇādaiṣṭikasruksammārgadharmā ihāpi bhavantīti /

pratitapanaṃ tvasminnevāgnau /
iha ca sammārgadarbhāṇāmagnāveva praharaṇam, na punarvaikalpikam /
tathā'yena juhotī'tyatra sāmānyavacanam
