yeṣāṃ pāpeṣu hiṃsābhūd
akṣamendriya-nigrahe
apy asatyaṃ paratrāṇe
cādhairyaṃ kṛṣṇa-kīrtane

yeṣām—of whom; pāpeṣu—to sinful; hiṃsā—violence; abhūt—is; akṣama—intolerance; indiriya—of the senses; nigrahe—in the subduing; api—although; asatyam—untruthfulness; para—of others; trāne—for the protection; ca—and; adhairyam—inebriety; krsna—of Lord Kṛṣṇa; kīrtane—in the chanting of the glories.

Nevertheless, the devotees are violent to the sinful demons,impatient to control the senses, willing to lie for another's protection, and free from soberness and gravity in the chanting of Lord Kṛṣṇa's holy names.
