This Sannidhi is dedicated to Lord Siva and he is called by another name Colisvara. He is present here in the Linga form. An old Sannidhi not well maintained. One can see a lot of peeling off on the walls and the floor also has an old unkept look. On either side of the entrance to this Sannidhi are Selva Vinayakar and Sri Tripurasundari. Vinayaka being the son of Siva and Tripurasundari being his wife. Ambal’s Vigraha is draped in an orange saree and though she has four hands. Chola Maharaja is known to have worshipped Svami as Atma Linga here . Hence his name as Sri Colisvarar.

Kumbakonam is considered as one of the holiest places in Tamil Nadu and is known for its temples and Mathas (monasteries which were centres of Brahmanical learning). These photographs depict the connection between the sculptures in the temples and Natya Shastra and related texts dealing with iconography.
