These two figures of women were also around the Garbha Graha Prakaram. The first lady is in Ayata Sthana, her right hand is in Uru Hasta and her left hand is folded in Katakamukha holding a Padma.

Kumbakonam is considered as one of the holiest places in Tamil Nadu and is known for its temples and Mathas (monasteries which were centres of Brahmanical learning).
