Up on the same pillar is the figure of elephant and horse riders below which are figures of soldiers fighting with each other. Right of this is a small figure of Krsna dancing with butter in his hand.

Kumbakonam is considered as one of the holiest places in Tamil Nadu and is known for its temples and Mathas (monasteries which were centres of Brahmanical learning).
