Description of the photo
On top there is also a sculpture depicting Rajagopala who is holding a stick with a whip and his left hand is resting on the cow. Towards his right is Satyabhama and towards his left is Bhumadevi. Towards the left of this sculpture is the figure of Caturbhuja Narayana. His main right hands are in Abhaya and Varada and his back hands hold Cakra and Sankha.

Kumbakonam is considered as one of the holiest places in Tamil Nadu and is known for its temples and Mathas (monasteries which were centres of Brahmanical learning). These photographs depict the connection between the sculptures in the temples and Natya Shastra and related texts dealing with iconography.
