In the same pillar at the top we can find the sculpture of Laksmi Narayana. Though the sculpture is not clear we can see Narayana seated in Sukhasana with his right hand in Sandamsa and his left hand in Lata. Laksmi is seated on his left lap.

Kumbakonam is considered as one of the holiest places in Tamil Nadu and is known for its temples and Mathas (monasteries which were centres of Brahmanical learning).
