Above Laksmana are the figures of Caturbhuja Vaikuntha Nathar with Adisesa. His main right hand is in Abhaya, main left hand is in Lata, back right and left hands are holding Cakra and Sankha. Towards the right of Vaikuntha Nathar is the figure of Caturbhuja Garudan. He is holding Anjali with his main hands and the back hands are lifted up in Uttana (palm facing up). His Siras is in Ancita and his Parsva and Urah [uras] are in Sama. Kati is also in Sama. Left leg is in Kuncita m (Muzhumandi), left Pada is in Sama. Right leg–Uru is in Valana, Janu is touching the floor (Parsvasuci), Jangha is in Nata, right Pada is in Kuncita. We can even describe this as Kuncita Karana.

Kumbakonam is considered as one of the holiest places in Tamil Nadu and is known for its temples and Mathas (monasteries which were centres of Brahmanical learning). These photographs depict the connection between the sculptures in the temples and Natya Shastra and related texts dealing with iconography.
