This is a sculpture of Caturbhuja Narayana in the centre, Garuda in Anjali Hasta to his right, Vennai Krsna to his left. Krsna is holding butter in his right hand, his right leg doing Urdhvajanu, his left hand is in Recita.. To his left is Bhumadevi. She is holding Padma in her right hand and her left hand is in Lata.

Kumbakonam is considered as one of the holiest places in Tamil Nadu and is known for its temples and Mathas (monasteries which were centres of Brahmanical learning). These photographs depict the connection between the sculptures in the temples and Natya Shastra and related texts dealing with iconography.
