In this pillar we can see Kubera with two hands. He is sitting in Sukhasana, Ridhi (his consort) is seated on his lap. He is holding a mace or Gada with his right hand. His left hand is around his consort who is seated with both her legs down. Her feet are resting on a round platform.
This pillar has many sculptures on the south side.

Kumbakonam is considered as one of the holiest places in Tamil Nadu and is known for its temples and Mathas (monasteries which were centres of Brahmanical learning). These photographs depict the connection between the sculptures in the temples and Natya Shastra and related texts dealing with iconography.
