This is the figure of Krsna sitting in Sukhasana–one leg folded at the knee and the other left loose touching the ground. His right hand is in Sandamsa holding some object. His left hand is on the Uru.

Kumbakonam is considered as one of the holiest places in Tamil Nadu and is known for its temples and Mathas (monasteries which were centres of Brahmanical learning).
