To the right side oh the dancer on the same pillar is the figure of Varadaraja Perumal. He has Caturbhujam [Caturbhuja] (four hands). Main right hand is in Abhaya Hasta, main left hand is in Uru Hasta, back right and left hands are holding Cakra and Sankha. On his right side is Sridevi. She is in Samabhanga. Her left hand is holding a lotus and her right hand is in Lata. On his left side is Bhudevi. She is holding Padma in her right hand and left hand is in Lata. She is also in Samabhanga. Varadaraja Perumal is also in Samabhanga but his feet are in Tryasra. On the same pillar on top we find the figure of Krisna doing Kalinga Mardana. And next to this is a soldier riding an elephant. He is holding an object in his right hand to control the elephant.

Kumbakonam is considered as one of the holiest places in Tamil Nadu and is known for its temples and Mathas (monasteries which were centres of Brahmanical learning). These photographs depict the connection between the sculptures in the temples and Natya Shastra and related texts dealing with iconography.
