Figure 151. A dancer showing movement

Image title: Figure 151. A dancer showing movement

Description of the photo

This is again a beautiful sculpture of a dancer. A movement is clearly visible. Her Siras is in Ancita, Parsva is in Samunnata on the left and Nata on the right, Urah [uras] is in Udvahita, left hand is holding some object, right hand is also holding some object like a jingle and is held near the thigh. Kati is in Udvahita on the right side. Right Uru seems to be doing Nivartana, right Janu is in Unnata, right Jangha is in Udvahita, right Pada is in Suci and seems to be in a state of being lifted. The left leg is slightly bent at the Janu, left Pada is in Sama but in Tryasra. The dancer is showing Tribhanga–waist lifted on right, torso bent to left and neck bent to right. She can be doing a movement like Nivartana of Uru or a Suci Cari.
