Figure 40. Mandala Sthana

Image title: Figure 40. Mandala Sthana

Description of the photo

This is an interesting posture where identification of a Cari or a Karana could prove to be difficult. The Siras is in Sama, Urah [uras], Parsva and Kati are in Sama, the dancer is in deep Mandala Sthana, Pada are in Parsva, Janu are in Ardhakuncita, Jangha are in Nata. The hands are held in the chest region but the Hasta is not clear—seems Pataka with the palms facing up (Uttana). This figure could be a transition stage for the next movement or the starting point of a movement.
