Description of the photo

Patan Darbar Square—Listed as a World Heritage Site, the square is among the world's most exquisite urban ensembles. Having been a centre of royal and religious power for over one thousand years, most of its manifold sacred and profane buildings were created in their present form during Patan's period of greatest prosperity under the three successive kings of the 17th century, Siddhi Narasingh, Shri Niwas and Yog Narendra. The Patan Museum is housed in the northernmost quadrangle of Patan Darbar, the previous residential quarters of the palace called Keshav Narayan Chowk [i.e., Keshava-Narayana].
