This wood sculpture shows an image of Indra, from the 18th century A.D.—Indra is also known as the God of Heaven and Rain. He and his consort Indrayani both have their own popular cults in Hindu culture. This image of Indra is seated cross-legged on his mount, the elephant and flanked by the attendants.
