This wood sculpture shows an image of Arya Tara, from the 18th century A.D.—Arya Tara is considered as the female consort of five celestial Buddha. This image of Arya Tara is shown seated on the lotus base in lalita-asana pose with gold-plated attire.
Arya Tara can also be spelled as Ārya Tārā (आर्य तारा), Aryatara or Āryatārā (आर्यतारा).
