Coat of Arms—During the period of Dutch administration in the maritime littoral area of Sri Lanka, the Dutch controlled area was divided into three administrative districts i.e Colombo, Galle and Jaffna. Those district had been divide again in to 8 smaller zones in order to make ease the administration. Each of those small administrative zones had an independent symbol which called the coat of arm. The main criterion followed when designing the symbols appear in the coat of arm of the respective zone was the identical physical or cultural characteristies of the area. For complete the coat of arm of the Baticaloa administrative zone consists of a figure of corn plants which symbolizes the and born civiliztion of the area. Dutch forts constructed in different place in Sri Lanka had similar coat of arms.

අනන්යතා ලාංඡන—ලන්දේසී ජාතිකයින් ශ්රී ලංකාවේ මුහුදු බඩ පළාත්වල සිය පාලනය ගෙන ගිය සමයේ කොළඹ, ගාල්ල හා යාපනය යනුවෙන් ඔවුන්ගේ පරිපාලනය ප්රධාන දිස්ත්රික්ක තුනකට බෙදා තිබිණි. ඒ දිස්ත්රික්ක නැවතත් පාලනයේ පහසුව තකා අනු කොටස් අටකට වෙන් කෙරිණි. මෙකී සෑම පරිපාලන දිස්ත්රික්කයකට සහ අනු පරිපාලන ඒකක වලට ස්වාධීන වූ අනන්යතා ලාංඡනයක් නිර්මාණය කොට තිබිණි. එම ලාංඡන සැකසීමේ දී අනුගමනය කළ ප්රධාන නිර්ණායකය වූයේ අදාළ පරිපාලන ප්රදේශයේ අනන්යතාවයි. නිදසුනක් ලෙස මඩකලපුව පරිපාලන ඒකකයේ අනන්යතා ලාංඡනයට ඇතුළත් කරන ලද්දේ හේන් ගොවිතැන සංකේතවත් කරන බඩ ඉරිඟු ගස් කීපයකි. මෙරට ස්ථාන කිහිපයක පිහිටුවා තිබූ ලන්දේසි බලකොටුවල නිල ලකුණ වූයේ ද මෙම අනන්යතා ලාංඡනයි.

These photos were taken at the Maritime Museum in Galle (Sri Lanka) which include objects recovered from the 2nd century B.C. Godawaya shipwreck. The Maritime Museum is housed in Galle's historic Dutch warehouse (built in 1671) and opened its doors on May 9, 1992. The Maritime Archaeology Museum is serving as a centre of education for various groups of visitors and researchers of Southern region of Sri Lanka.
