Gaurigarh (गौरीगार्ह) in Nepali refers to the animal Gaur (Bos gaurus or “Indian bison”, from the Bos genus and Bovidae family). It is is mentioned as one of the “Protected animals of Nepal”.

The word Gaurigarh can also be transliterated as Gaurigarha, Gaurīgārh or Gaurīgārha.
