This stone sculpture shows an image of Uma-Mahesvara with Kumar and Nandi, from the 8th-9th century A.D.—This image was recovered from Sankhu, the north-east corner of Kathmandu Valley. Shiva and Parvati are depicted i nthe lalitasana posture. The execution gives the impression that the Divine couple is in its abode in Kailash. Uma is seated on the left side gracefull leaning towards her Lord Shiva. The divine couple is accompanied by Kumar and Shiva’s mount, Nandi, the bull.
