This bronze sculpture shows an image of Varaha, from the 19th century A.D.—Varaha is the third incarnation of Vishnu. There are different forms of images of Varaha like Bhuvaraha, Yagyavaraha (Yajnavaraha), and Pralayavaraha. This image of Yagyavyaraha is shown with a hand placed on the dais and the other hand is holding a neelkamala (nilakamala) or a special type of lotus-flower while the left hand is upholding Bhudevi, the Earth Goddess.

Varaha can also be spelled as Varāha (वराह), Yagyavaraha as Yajñavarāha (यज्ञवराह), Bhuvaraha as Bhūvarāha (भूवराह) and Pralayavaraha as Pralayavarāha (प्रलयवराह), Bhudevi as Bhūdevī (भूदेवी).
