The Boudhanath Stupa is so large that around the walls of the main platform there are many small alleys and secluded places for offering worship. The alleys are filled with various religious items such as glasses filled with water and flowers. Buddhist mendicants make sure that each water fresh water with flowers are offered.

The Boudhanath Stupa is an important destination for Buddhist religious followers situated in the Kathmandu valley. This ancient Stupa (holy burial mound) dates to at least the 7th century and is said to contain the remains of Kassapa Buddha, who is generally believed to be the third of the five Buddhas of the present aeon.
