The numerous bracts that envelop a flower or inflorescence, often clustered in one or several whorls, are called an "involucre" (总苞 [zong bao] zǒng bāo). Examples include chrysanthemums (菊 [ju] jú) and dandelions (蒲公英 [pu gong ying] pú gōng yīng), which both have involucres.
