Southern Dynasties Chen Dynasty · Xu Ling, "Elegy for Emperor Wen of Chen": "Diligent in serving the people and listening to government, eating late and dressing at night." Also written as "gàn shí xiāo yī (旰食宵衣 [gan shi xiao yi])" or "xiāo yī gàn shí (宵衣旰食 [xiao yi gan shi])."
