閱頭檀 [yue tou tan]—(Yuètóután) — [Personal Name] Śuddhodana, also rendered as 首圖駄那 [shou tu tuo na] (Shǒutútuónà). Translated as 淨飯 [jing fan] (Jìngfàn) (Pure Rice), or 白淨飯王 [bai jing fan wang] (Bái jìngfàn wáng) (White Pure Rice King). Volume 5 of the Sutra of the Collection of Past Deeds states: "閱檀頭王 [yue tan tou wang] (Yuètántóu Wáng) is called 淨飯王 [jing fan wang] (Jìngfàn Wáng) in the Sui Dynasty language." Volume 4 of Xuanying's Sound and Meaning says: "王 [wang] (Yuètóután Wáng) is translated here as 白淨飯王 [bai jing fan wang] (Bái jìngfàn wáng), or sometimes 淨飯王 [jing fan wang] (Jìngfàn Wáng)."
