圓空 [yuan kong]—Complete vacuity, i.e. 空空 [kong kong], from which even the idea of vacuity is absent.

圓空 [yuan kong]—Yuankong — [Term (術語 [shu yu])] Yuankong is so called in contrast to Piankong (偏空 [pian kong]). Attachment to emptiness (著于空 [zhe yu kong]) is called Piankong. When even emptiness is empty (空亦空 [kong yi kong]) and there is no longer anything to which one is attached, this is called Yuankong. It is also known as the ultimate truth of emptiness (第一义空 [di yi yi kong]). The Discourse on the Endless Lamp (无尽灯论 [wu jin deng lun]) states: "Refute Piankong and enter Yuankong."

圓空—【術語】對於偏空而曰圓空。著於空曰偏空。空亦空,更無所著曰圓空。亦名第一義空。無盡燈論上曰:「呵偏空而入圓空。」

源空 [yuan kong]—Genkū — [Person's Name] The founder (開祖 [kai zu]) of Japan's Jōdo-shū (淨土宗 [jing tu zong]) (Pure Land Buddhism). He initially studied Tendai learning (台學 [tai xue]) and also received Esoteric Buddhism (密教 [mi jiao]) and the perfect and sudden precepts (圓頓大戒 [yuan dun da jie]). Later, after seeing Shandao's (善導 [shan dao]) Commentary on the Contemplation Sutra (觀經疏 [guan jing shu]), he abandoned what he had studied and dedicated himself exclusively to nianfo (念佛 [nian fu]) (reciting the Buddha's name). He authored (撰 [zhuan]) the Senchaku Hongan Nembutsu Shū (撰擇本願念佛集 [zhuan ze ben yuan nian fu ji]).
