一日三時 [yi ri san shi]—"One day, three periods" — [Technical term] (術語 [shu yu]): Refers to morning (晨朝 [chen chao]), midday (日中 [ri zhong]), and dusk (黃昏 [huang hun]). A day is divided into three periods for daytime and three periods for nighttime. This is an ancient Indian custom.
