Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarYājakādi (याजकादि).—A class of words headed by the words याजक, पूजक, परिचारक (yājaka, pūjaka, paricāraka) and others with which a word in the genitive case is compounded, in spite of the prohibition of compounds with such words, laid down by the rule कर्तरि च (kartari ca) P. II. 2.16; e.g.ब्राह्मण-याजकः (brāhmaṇa-yājakaḥ). ब्राह्मणपूजकः (brāhmaṇapūjakaḥ) etc.: cf Kas. on P. II.2.9. These words, याजक (yājaka) and others standing as the second members of compounds have their last vowel accented acute;cf.P.VI . 2.151.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
