懸曠 [xuan kuang]—(xuán kuàng)—[Miscellaneous Terms (雜語 [za yu])] Refers to the profound and distant (幽遠 [you yuan]) nature of the Buddha-dharma (佛道 [fu dao]). The Devadatta Chapter (提婆品 [ti po pin]) of the Lotus Sūtra (法華經 [fa hua jing]) states: "The Buddha-dharma (佛道 [fu dao]) is vast and remote; after passing through immeasurable kalpas (無量劫 [wu liang jie]), diligently and arduously accumulating practices (勤苦積行 [qin ku ji xing]), and completely cultivating all pāramitās (具修諸度 [ju xiu zhu du]), only then is it accomplished."

懸曠—【雜語】謂佛道之幽遠也。法華經提婆品曰:「佛道懸曠,經無量劫,勤苦積行,具修諸度,然後乃成。」

[zá yǔ] wèi fú dào zhī yōu yuǎn yě. fǎ huá jīng tí pó pǐn yuē: “fú dào xuán kuàng, jīng wú liàng jié, qín kǔ jī xíng, jù xiū zhū dù, rán hòu nǎi chéng.”

[za yu] wei fu dao zhi you yuan ye. fa hua jing ti po pin yue: "fu dao xuan kuang, jing wu liang jie, qin ku ji xing, ju xiu zhu du, ran hou nai cheng."
