頡麗伐多 [xie li fa duo]—Xiélìfádō — [Person's Name] The name of an Arhat (羅漢 [luo han]). Formerly known as Líbōduō (離波多 [li bo duo]), Líbōduō (梨波多 [li bo duo]), Revata, etc. Xuanying's "Sound and Meaning" (玄應音義 [xuan ying yin yi]), Volume 22, states: "Xiélìfádō, pronounced 'xián-jié', means 'timely encounter' (遇時 [yu shi]) or 'Chamber Star' (室星 [shi xing]). It is a northern constellation; those who worship it obtain children, hence the name. He is the foremost among those who practice sitting meditation (坐禪 [zuo chan]). The old pronunciations Líbōduō (梨波多 [li bo duo]) or Lí Pódō (黎婆多 [li po duo]) are all erroneous (訛 [e])."

頡麗伐多—【人名】羅漢名。舊稱,離波多,梨波多 Revata 等。玄應音義二十二曰:「頡麗伐多,賢結切,此言遇時,又云室星。則北方宿也,祠之得子,仍以名焉。坐禪第一者是也。舊言梨波多,或云黎婆多,皆訛也。」
