消火栓 [xiāo huǒ shuān] [xiao huo shuan]—
Devices [装置 [zhuang zhi]] used for drawing water [引水 [yin shui]] for fire extinguishing [灭火 [mie huo]] are mostly located by the roadside [马路边 [ma lu bian]] or on the ground floor [底层 [di ceng]] of buildings [大楼建筑 [da lou jian zhu]]. In emergencies [紧急时 [jin ji shi]], by removing the plug [栓 [shuan]] that blocks the water pipe [自来水管 [zi lai shui guan]] and connecting a rubber hose [橡皮管 [xiang pi guan]], water will gush out [涌出 [yong chu]] from the hose opening, to be used for extinguishing fires [灭火 [mie huo]].
消火栓：用來引水滅火的裝置，大都設在馬路邊或大樓建築的底層。緊急時，除去塞在自來水管的栓，接上橡皮管，水就由橡皮管口湧出，用以滅火。
