1. A small table (小几 [xiao ji]).
《陳書 [chen shu].卷二七 [juan er qi].列傳 [lie chuan].姚察 [yao cha]》 (Chen Shu, Volume 27, Biographies, Yao Cha): 「瞑目之後 [ming mu zhi hou],不須立靈 [bu xu li ling],置一 [zhi yi](xiǎo chuáng),每日設清水 [mei ri she qing shui],六齋日設齋食果菜 [liu zhai ri she zhai shi guo cai],任家有無 [ren jia you wu],不須別經營也 [bu xu bie jing ying ye]。」 (After closing the eyes [after death], there is no need to set up a spirit tablet [靈 [ling]]; place a small bed [], offer clear water [清水 [qing shui]] daily, and on the six fasting days, offer vegetarian food [齋食 [zhai shi]], fruits and vegetables [果菜 [guo cai]], according to what the family has; there is no need for special arrangements.)
