仙姑 [xiān gū] [xian gu]—
1. Female immortal. For example, He Xiangu (何 [he]). In Chapter 5 of Dream of the Red Chamber (紅樓夢 [hong lou meng]), "Baoyu (寶玉 [bao yu]) saw that it was a female immortal and happily hurried to bow."
2. A respectful term for a female Taoist priest (道士 [dao shi]). In Act 14 of The Jade Hairpin (玉簪記 [yu zan ji]) by Gao Lian (高濂 [gao lian]) of the Ming Dynasty (明 [ming]), "This humble student, Pan Bizheng (潘必正 [pan bi zheng]), ashamed to return home after failing the imperial examination, temporarily took refuge in the Nüzhen Temple (女真觀 [nu zhen guan]) to rest. There, he happened to see a female Taoist priest grooming herself, her radiance and beauty captivating."
3. Female spirit medium (乩童 [ji tong]).

險固 [xiǎn gù] [xian gu]—
The terrain is strategically important, dangerous, and fortified (形勢險要堅固 [xing shi xian yao jian gu]). From Book of the Later Han (後漢書 [hou han shu]), Chapter 41, Biography of Diwu Lun (第五倫傳 [di wu lun chuan]): "Diwu Lun (倫 [lun]) then relied on the dangerous and fortified terrain to build camps and walls (營壁 [ying bi]). Whenever there were bandits (賊 [zei]), he would rouse his troops (眾 [zhong]), draw his bows to full (引彊持滿 [yin jiang chi man]), and repel (拒 [ju]) them." From Romance of the Three Kingdoms (三國演義 [san guo yan yi]), Chapter 42: "Jingzhou (荊州 [jing zhou]) is adjacent to the state (國 [guo]). Its mountains and rivers (江山 [jiang shan]) are dangerous and fortified, and its people (士民 [shi min]) are prosperous (殷富 [yin fu])."

險固:形勢險要堅固。《後漢書.卷四一.第五倫傳》:「倫乃依險固築營壁,有賊,輒奮厲其眾,引彊持滿以拒之。」《三國演義》第四二回:「荊州與國鄰接,江山險固,士民殷富。」

xiǎn gù: xíng shì xiǎn yào jiān gù. < hòu hàn shū. juǎn sì yī. dì wǔ lún chuán>: “lún nǎi yī xiǎn gù zhú yíng bì, yǒu zéi, zhé fèn lì qí zhòng, yǐn jiàng chí mǎn yǐ jù zhī.” < sān guó yǎn yì> dì sì èr huí: “jīng zhōu yǔ guó lín jiē, jiāng shān xiǎn gù, shì mín yīn fù.”
