From Selections of Refined Literature (《文選 [wen xuan]》), Zhang Hua's (張華 [zhang hua]) "Two Poems in Reply to He Shao (何劭 [he shao]), No. 2": "Being in an unsuitable position (負乘 [fu cheng]) serves as a warning for me; I am cautious and feel uneasy even when sitting."

A trap for catching animals that uses a rope to ensnare their feet. From Zhan Guo Ce (《戰國策 [zhan guo ce]》) · Zhao Ce San (《趙策三 [zhao ce san]》): "Someone set a jìtí and caught a tiger. The tiger, enraged, broke free from the snare (jué pán, 決蹯 [jue fan]) and left." Also known as "系蹄 [xi ti]" (jìtí).

係蹄:以繩套住獸足的捕獸工具。《戰國策.趙策三》:「人有置係蹄者而得虎,虎怒,決蹯而去。」也稱為「系蹄」。
