無修無證 [wu xiu wu zheng]—Wú xiū wú zhèng — A technical term referring to a wúwéi zhēnrén (無為真人 [wu wei zhen ren]), a true person who has transcended the emotional attachment to cultivation and realization. The Táijiā (台家 [tai jia]) (Tiantai school) refers to such a person as having so-called unconditioned xìngdé (性德 [xing de]) (intrinsic virtue). The Sìshí'èrzhāng Jīng (四十二章經 [si shi er zhang jing]) (Sutra in Forty-two Sections) states: 'Feeding countless Buddhas of the three times is not as good as feeding one person who is wúniàn (無念 [wu nian]) (without thought), wúzhù (無住 [wu zhu]) (without abiding), without cultivation, and without realization.'
無修無證—【術語】離修證情念之無為真人也。台家稱所謂無作性德之人。四十二章經曰:「飯千億三世諸佛,不如飯一無念無住無修無證之人。」
