無塵法界 [wu chen fa jie]—The Dustless Dharma-realm — [Terminology (術語 [shu yu])] Dust (塵 [chen]) refers to the six dusts (六塵 [liu chen]) such as forms, etc., which are all phenomena (諸法 [zhu fa]) of the three realms (三界 [san jie]). The Dharma-realm (法界 [fa jie]) is another name for ultimate truth (真理 [zhen li]). The essence of principle (理體清淨 [li ti qing jing]) is pure; all phenomena of the three realms arise solely from this principle through dependent origination (緣起 [yuan qi]). Outside of this principle, there are no dusty realms (塵境 [chen jing]), hence it is called the Dustless Dharma-realm. The Chapter on the Profound Meaning of the Contemplation Sutra (觀經玄義分 [guan jing xuan yi fen]) states: "In the Dustless Dharma-realm, the ordinary and the sagely (凡聖齊圓 [fan sheng qi yuan]) are equally perfect." The Awakening of Faith in Mahayana (起信論 [qi xin lun]) states: "The three realms are illusory (虛偽 [xu wei]) and created by mind alone (唯心所作 [wei xin suo zuo]); apart from the mind (心 [xin]), there are no six dusts or their objects." (Mind here refers to the true mind (真心 [zhen xin]), which is the mind of Suchness (真如 [zhen ru])).

無塵法界—【術語】塵者色等之六塵,即三界之諸法也,法界為真理之異名,理體清淨,一切三界諸法唯由理緣起,理外無塵境,故云無塵法界。觀經玄義分曰:「無塵法界凡聖齊圓。」起信論曰:「三界虛偽,唯心所作,離心則無六塵境界。」(心為真心,即真如之心也)。
