委罪 [wěi zuì] [wei zui]—
Shirk responsibility; pass the buck. From Jin Shu (晉書 [jin shu]), Volume 88, Biographies of Filial Piety and Brotherly Love: Biography of Wang Pou (孝友傳 [xiao you chuan].王裒傳 [wang pou chuan]): "Yi replied, 'The responsibility lies with the commander-in-chief (元帥 [yuan shuai]).' The emperor (帝 [di]) angrily said, 'Does Sima (司馬 [si ma]) want to shift the blame onto me?' Thereupon, he was dragged out and executed." Also written as "委過 [wei guo] (weiguo)" and "委咎 [wei jiu] (weijiu)."
委罪:推卸罪責。《晉書.卷八八.孝友傳.王裒傳》:「儀對曰:『責在元帥。』帝怒曰:『司馬欲委罪於孤邪!』遂引出斬之。」也作「委過」、「委咎」。
wěi zuì: tuī xiè zuì zé. < jìn shū. juǎn bā bā. xiào yǒu chuán. wáng póu chuán>: “yí duì yuē: ‘zé zài yuán shuài.’ dì nù yuē: ‘sī mǎ yù wěi zuì yú gū xié! ’ suì yǐn chū zhǎn zhī.” yě zuò “wěi guò” ,, “wěi jiù” .
