偽證 [wěi zhèng] [wei zheng]—
In court trials or prosecutorial investigations, if a witness (證人 [zheng ren]), expert witness (鑑定人 [jian ding ren]), or interpreter (通譯 [tong yi]) makes false statements regarding important matters related to the case, and has completed the oath-taking procedure (具結程序 [ju jie cheng xu]) to guarantee that the content of their statements is true, the crime of perjury (罪 [zui]) can be punished with a maximum sentence of seven years imprisonment.
偽證:法院審判案件或檢察官偵查時,證人、鑑定人、通譯,對於有關案情的重要事項作虛偽的供述,並且已經完成具結程序以擔保所陳述之內容均屬真實者;偽證罪最重可以判處七年有期徒刑。
