微細身 [wei xi shen]—A refined, subtle body.
[The following represents an unverified English translation. For all purposes consult the original Chinese text.]
微細身 [wei xi shen]—Subtle Body — [Term (術語 [shu yu])] In Esoteric Buddhism (密教 [mi jiao]), the established Dharma-body (法身 [fa shen]) possesses a subtle form (色形 [se xing]) that pervades the Dharma-realm (法界 [fa jie]). The Mikkyō Hōshō-ki (秘藏記 [mi cang ji]) states at its end: "Any Buddha abandons the body composed of the defiled (有漏 [you lou]) five skandhas (五蘊 [wu yun]) and so forth, possesses a body composed of the undefiled (無漏 [wu lou]) five skandhas and so forth, and an undefiled five skandhas and so forth subtle body. The subtle body is like space (虛空 [xu kong])."
The same text further states: "The Dharma-body's (法身 [fa shen]) subtle body is formed by the five great elements (五大 [wu da]). The Dharma-body's (法身 [fa shen]) subtle body pervades all places, from space (虛空 [xu kong]) to grass and trees (草木 [cao mu]). This space, this grass and trees, are precisely the Dharma-body. With the physical eye (肉眼 [rou yan]), one sees coarse forms (麤色 [cu se]); with the Buddha-eye (佛眼 [fu yan]), one sees subtle (微妙 [wei miao]) forms."
