妄念 [wang nian]—Deluded Thought — [Term (術語 [shu yu])] An illusory (虛妄 [xu wang]) mental thought (心念 [xin nian]). It is also the mind of an ordinary person (凡夫 [fan fu]) that craves and clings (貪著 [tan zhe]) to the realms (境界 [jing jie]) of the six dusts (六塵 [liu chen]).

In the past, formerly. Tang Dynasty, Bai Juyi, "Retitling Peonies at Ximing Temple" poem: "In (wǎng nián), you went to the eastern capital, and I once lamented that you had not returned when the flowers were in bloom."
